Business Development Representative – Architectural/Building Envelope - Eastern America ( Canada and USA)

We are seeking a Business Development Representative who possesses in-depth industry experience and a passion for solving customer problems. Whether you have prior sales experience or are looking to transition into a sales role, your technical knowledge and industry insight will drive success in this consultative, relationship-building position.
As part of our team, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our market presence and driving revenue growth in the region.
Position Overview:
Reporting directly to the president, the experienced Business Development Representative, will actively pursue and develop existing and new business opportunities in Eastern / North America. The ideal candidate understands the sales process, excel at generating leads, building relationships, and closing deals. They are passionate about custom sealing solutions and supporting our customers’ projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and nurture strong relationships with architects, contractors, developers, and other key stakeholders in the building envelope market.
- Leverage your technical understanding of high-performance rubber and building materials to provide tailored solutions for client projects.
- Identify new business opportunities through industry networks, events, and research.
- Act as a consultant to clients, understanding their project needs and proposing the right sealing and envelope solutions.
- Collaborate with the internal team to deliver on customer expectations and support project-specific technical requirements.
- Participate in industry events and trade shows to build brand awareness and generate leads.
Profile:
- Experience in the building envelope, construction materials, or architecture industry (sales experience is not required).
- Ability to understand technical product specifications and how they meet the needs of architectural projects.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Willingness to learn sales strategies and develop business development expertise.
- Proactive and self-driven, with the ability to manage long-term client relationships and navigate complex sales cycles.
- Minimum 5-8 years of professional experience.
- Availability to travel ~25%.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and knowledge of custom rubber parts.
- Experience with target audiences like engineers and OEMs, and a willingness to join a high-growth small company.
- Superior problem-solving and listening skills.
- Bilingual is required to support all our sales activities in eastern america including US and Canada geography (French and English, written and spoken).
- Proficient with the MS Office suite and CRM software (Hubspot).
